Welcome to the Industrial Truck Association

For more than 70 years, the Industrial Truck Association (ITA) has been the leading organization of industrial truck manufacturers and suppliers of component parts and accessories that conduct business in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Members gain access to exclusive member services, such as industry engineering practices, statistical reporting, market development, training and networking. Be a part of ITA’s unified voice by applying for membership today.

ITA is the premier organization for every link in the industrial truck industry supply chain. Composed of original equipment manufacturers and suppliers of component parts and accessories, ITA connects, protects and serves the industry and its members. Highly recognized as a reliable expert among public and private business and a credible source of engineering and statistical information, ITA is the collective voice of the industry.

Headquartered in Washington, D.C., ITA works to communicate and collaborate with its members, other global associations and the marketplace at large to develop effective programs, resources and leadership. The association maintains an influential voice in international standards development for the industry, advances engineering practices to promote safe products, disseminates statistical marketplace information and provides industry forums for learning and networking.

ITA works closely with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to conduct compliance officer training seminars, provide workplace safety materials and communicate information. And for years ITA has worked to transition the B56 series of standards from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers to the Industrial Truck Standards Development Foundation; to help establish the Alliance of Industrial Truck Organizations that gathers data on lift truck markets around the world; and to lead development of a new set of international standards affecting products through the International Organization for Standardization.

ITA provides membership value and engagement. A comprehensive statistics program tracks forklift orders and shipments by truck class, lift code, county and state of shipment, power source, lift capacity and tire type through data submitted from every regular member. A membership database connects suppliers with manufacturers. Plus, an annual meeting supports new policy development, networking and training activities.

ITA positively impacts its members’ business profiles while offering a return on investment through exclusive members-only resources and services. If you are dedicated to the industrial truck market and the material handling industry, ITA welcomes you to become an integral part of this organization.

For tax purposes, ITA is a 501(c)(6) organization, registered in the District of Columbia as a non-profit company, and supports itself through dues levied on the membership. Members may deduct dues as ordinary business expenses, not as charitable deductions.
